Pablo Yesid Fajardo Benítez

He is a public sector leader with extensive experience in Colombia’s mining and energy sector. He holds a specialization in Public Law from the Externado University of Colombia and a specialization in Environmental Management from ESAP, academic training that supports his strong background in public administration and environmental governance.

Throughout his career, he has held senior positions at both the national and regional levels, including Technical Director of the Business Mining Directorate at the Ministry of Mines and Energy, Acting Secretary General and Acting Vice Minister of Mines and Energy, and Secretary of Mines, Energy and Gas for the Government of Cundinamarca. He has also served as an advisor to the Fifth Commission of the House of Representatives, focusing on mining, energy, and environmental policy.

His professional trajectory is marked by strategic leadership within public institutions and the implementation of policies aimed at protecting the national interest, strengthening state oversight of natural resources, and reinforcing sovereignty over the subsoil. He combines technical expertise, political acumen, and a strong commitment to dialogue—key qualities for advancing institutional management aligned with a just energy transition, territorial equity, and sustainable development.

As president of ANH, he promotes a public policy agenda that addresses climate change challenges, energy security and sovereignty, and the diversification of the energy matrix, always in service of the country’s long-term development and the public good.
