Ababacar Mbengue

Mr. Ababacar Mbengue holds is an oil and gas professional with nearly 22 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, spanning technical, managerial, and strategic leadership roles. Mr. Mbengue holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnical School of Dakar, Senegal in 2002. In 2003, he joined Schlumberger where he built a distinguished career in the oil and gas sector for 18 years. In 2021, he established SEPCO Industries Senegal, specialized in waste management in the petroleum industry.
He currently serves as Director of Exploration and Promotion at PETROSEN E&P (Senegal’s National Oil Company) since 2024, where he oversees upstream project development, basin evaluation, oil block promotion, and international stakeholder engagement. His early roles laid a strong foundation in project management and operations, eventually leading
him to senior positions within both national and international petroleum organizations. As Director of Exploration and Promotion, he leads multidisciplinary teams comprising
geologists, geophysicists and reservoir engineers, with a mission to unlock the hydrocarbon potential of Senegal’s sedimentary basins.
