Suriname Energy Chamber Joins Caribbean Energy Week 2026 as Strategic Partner
As the primary private-sector body promoting Suriname’s energy and industrial development, the Suriname Energy Chamber works closely with industry, government and investors to encourage responsible growth and local value creation. Through this collaboration, the Chamber will help connect Caribbean policymakers, companies and financiers with emerging opportunities across the region – spanning offshore exploration, renewable power, LNG development, transmission upgrades and energy services.
Caribbean nations are experiencing a period of rapid energy transformation. Major offshore discoveries in Suriname and Guyana are reshaping production potential, while renewable projects such as Trinidad’s Brechin Castle solar plant and emerging carbon capture and storage opportunities are advancing the region’s transition efforts. Governments are simultaneously investing in transmission upgrades, grid modernization and battery storage to improve reliability and integrate new generation. Amid growing electricity demand, evolving energy markets and the need for climate resilience, stakeholders are prioritizing investment-ready projects, resilient infrastructure and public-private collaboration. CEW will provide a platform for policymakers, developers and financiers to explore these opportunities, evaluate bankability and share practical strategies for scaling energy projects across the Caribbean.
“Caribbean Energy Week is about moving beyond discussion and toward practical collaboration. Our partnership with the Suriname Energy Chamber helps ensure that local businesses, policymakers and investors all have a seat at the table. Suriname and the wider Caribbean are entering a period of unprecedented opportunity, and CEW will help translate that momentum into projects and partnerships that deliver real impact,” said Sandra Jeque, Event & Project Director at ECP.
Under the partnership, both organizations will work together to promote CEW, engage stakeholders and amplify regional participation, reinforcing Suriname’s role as a convening hub for Caribbean energy dialogue. With sessions dedicated to financing models, energy transition strategies, offshore developments, infrastructure modernization and local content, Caribbean Energy Week is set to become a landmark meeting point for leaders shaping the future of Caribbean energy.
